Amanda Kibble's musical studies began at the age of 8 on the violin & piano. At the age of 14, she was presented with a bassoon and was given a place at the prestigious Centre for Young Musicians in Pimlico where she studied for five years with Nick Hunka of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Amanda graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Music and French and subsequently freelanced, performing and making recordings with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta. Amanda still performs regularly with local professional and semi-professional groups and is a founder member of Wessex Sinfonietta, a Southampton based pro/am chamber orchestra.
Amanda spent ten years as a peripatetic double reed teacher for Hampshire Music Service and more recently as the bassoon tutor at the Salisbury Young Musicians' Centre, King Edward's School and Richard Taunton College. Amanda teaches children and adults in her private practice and teaches music award pupils for Southampton Music Services.
